Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Miami, has reintroduced legislation that would double the fines and jail time for people convicted of Medicare fraud. The North Carolina Attorney General’s office announced this past Monday that nine health care employees at Families First Home Health Care in Alleghany County, NC have been accused of defrauding Medicare. Seven employees are accused of submitting fake time sheets claiming services were provided and two other employees are accused of falsifying documents.
